We had the funeral for our beloved grandma today. I've missed her already. It's been almost 11 years that I've known her since the first time we spent on Thanksgiving Day 1997, the birthday that we always shared throughout those years, and our last Christmas 2007 together. She is the best grandma and a very strong woman. We will always cherish the memories that we have of her. I never knew my father's mother since she died on childbirth when my father was 14 years old and I was not very close with my mother's mother since I moved to United States when I was 17 years old. She passed a year after my father when I was 23 years old. My father was 52. It has been hard for me since then when a day like this come across my life but I know that grandma made her life to be colorful and wonderful. She made the best of it. Grandpa has always been beside her and they happily married for 60 years. Their loves for each other made everything in life seem possible and stronger. Grandma Mears was the closest grandma that I've ever had. David & I love both of them very much and we will keep the Mears family legacy alive and be with us forever. And from this, we saw all our wonderful and beautiful families from across the countries today. We love you and we hope to see you again soon...

What a beginning of the year!

The holiday had past and the new year is just beginning. There are so much happening in everyone's life. Congratulations to a wonderful friend, Artie, and his Wife, Dalia, who have a cute little girl in the middle of this January month. It is called for a celebration!
And I guess congratulations to us for after all the longest waiting years that finally we are pregnant! There is bitter sweet for me this January. It is a very sad that I have to leave all my wonderful people in Tourism. I said good bye to them on January 22nd after a very hard decision and a very long bargain. I will miss working with them, but a new chapter of a job will continue, I will start with OSEEGIB on January 30th as their Data Management Analyst III. Hopefully I will enjoy working there as much as when I worked with Tourism. It is a completely nerve-wrecking to start a new job with a knowledge that I'm also having a baby!
Two days ago, we got the ultrasound and it hit me when I saw the baby's heartbeat. Oh my gosh... I almost cried to tears. Everything is normal and we'll see what happen next week when I go to the doctor again for another ultrasound. Right now, I'm just little nauseated... it is not really a good feeling but i'm glad I did not have any really morning sickness. We are about 8 weeks and the due date is September 10, 2008 (according to the doctor). Dave and I are pretty happy and so far I get to enslave him to get me everything I want which is pretty sweeeeeet... He is a wonderful husband though... I'm very lucky to be married to him :)
Well, ta da and I'll keep you all informed ;)

As days go by...

It's been another year since the last wedding anniversary. Time flies and the world keeps turning. Enjoyment of being off from work for a week also almost comes to an end. Had the anniversary celebration on Monday with my honey and watched the wedding video is bringing the wonderful memory that I did not feel it had been two years ago. Then on the next day having to go down to Tulsa since Grandma Mears went to the hospital. We saw a whole lot of spirit from her. She is a very strong woman. We had late lunch with Grandpa Mears at Red Lobster. At least he ate well that time and we had wonderful conversations. As Wednesday then Thursday passed by, I got the chance to call my mama which sounded happy and well but still having the same problems... Then Friday was our Lord of the Rings day! It is a 12 hours straight, sitting down and chill with bunch of snacks, plus entertainment. Started on 2.30pm and finished on 2am on Saturday morning. This event is the first for Dave and the third time for me. I still love the LOTR... unbelievable dedications. It was fun! So what's for today??? Not quite sure... probably just a relaxing day but I will let you know tomorrow. That's it for now!!!

I'm Back!!!

It's been a while since I did it but finally I decided to start doing it again since some of you across countries would like to know what I have been doing. I'm still working at the same place, still married to the same man, still live in beautiful mid US, and still appreciate all the life has to offer. I miss seeing my family way across continents so hopefully I will be able to see them soon. Like usual, I would like to learn new software... what a nerd! We finished (for now) with the home improvements. So currently, I'm planning to have little mini vacation with Dave for our second anniversary. Hmmm... still don't know where we want to go... any suggestion??? We both hate heat and this is summer time... where can we escape this humidity :)
So keep take a peek on my blog, I will try to keep up with it. Love you all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It is a little too late but better late than never to wish you all Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays! I'm sorry that it was late for the blog since David and I was the host for Thanksgiving this year. It was wonderful to spent time with the family. It was 9 of us... So it was a pretty good holiday... everyday eat turkey left over for lunch after running around in the morning... but as soon as I finished the meal.... gobble2 I was always getting sleepy again :) Oh well, that's the turkey chem. for you! Now back to work!

Happy Halloween!!!

Can't believe it is October 31 again! After painful trip to my dentist, David & I went to Edmond to do some real candy distribution with our parents. Finally, I get to experience the wonder of Halloween and seeing how many wonderful and beautiful... but some with creepy costumes are there to celebrate this day. I love seeing them in costumes. We provided lots of candies and comic books... ranging from avengers, spiderman, mary jane, and star wars. Children loves them. I really encourage to have all children grow into reading something that they enjoy.

Too Bad

I made it to the selection stage among 50 people as soon as I get into the assembly hall an hour and a half. I was the last 6 people that stayed in the courtroom during the jury selection plus the alternative. But after 2 days in the actual courtroom and listening all the questions and answers, I did not get picked :( It was pretty dissappointed since it is a pretty big case. Murder 1st degree.... it is pretty scary stuff but justice must be served. Anyway... back to work as usual and who knows someday I will be an actual jury. I was so surprised that there were a lot of people that don't know anything about downtown OKC especially after living here for so long or even were born here. It is pretty sad because there are lots of good places to visit and great places to eat but mostly they close before 6pm CST. So If you need a tour of downtown... I'm there. Afterall, I work for Oklahoma Tourism Department :)

My Civic Responsibility

October 16, 2006 is my sista birthday... called her last night since it is 12 hours difference between US and Indonesia. SO... HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS! I wish you have a wonderful birthday.
It is also the day where for first time I perform my civic responsibility. It's my turn to be in the Jury Duty. It is so exciting and big. I just hope that I will be picked pretty soon. It's pretty boring when waiting in the assembly hall but fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long this morning. I'm in the pool but not yet picked. We'll see what will happen tomorrow. I hope that it will be exciting.
Some tips for jury newbies in Downtown OKC:
1. Arrive early, since the parking will be a nightmare. Park as lowest as possible to the ground floor in parking garage. If you park on the top, it will take you approximately 2 hours to get out when the day is over.
2. Take concourse if raining/during winter (map is available at the entrance).
3. Bring breakfast bar if you are in a hurry & don't have time to stop.
4. Bring a small bottle of water, you can refill it at the fountain.
5. Bring something to read. If you have... fill it into your PDA with ebook. If you don't have then bring a thick book, a thick magazine, or a thick comic of course....
6. If you have... Bring Ipod/mp3/walkman/cd player (small enough to put in your pocket or purse).... LOAD IT with music &/movies.
7. Turn off your cell phone/any device that makes obvious noise.
8. Pay a real close attention to everything.
9. For Lunch, there are lots of restaurants & places to eat. Ask deputies or somebody work downtown for directions. Try to stay close to the court house. Don't wander off!
10. Answer every questions honestly.
11. Just have a good positive thinking & attitude that it will be fun & interesting.
Well, that was the excitement I have for today. We'll see what happen for tomorrow. Later!
